BACKGROUND
Abubakar Garo is a first year student studying International Relations at the University of Birmingham. The University as he said has taught him quite a lot, "I've learnt to be independent".

TELL US ABOUT YOU
Well ...I'm 19 years old, I like playing football, its my favourite hobby. My best colour is red. I like to play video games, read novels and watch movies. Rick Ross is my best artiste, he raps so well. I like his "Hustlin" and "Free Mason", they are my favourite music. I can listen to them all day.
ROLE MODEL AND INSPIRATION
Hmmm...my dad and Rick Ross are my role models. My dad is my role model because I like his lifestyle and the things he does just inspires me. Rick Ross is also my role model because of the same reasons, I like his lifestyle as well and his music.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR FIRST DAY OF UNI
My first day...I don't really remember much about it but it was really fun. I enjoyed it to be honest.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR DAILY LIFE
Once I wake up, I pray and then cook...I cook eggs and chips for breakfast or I make custard and then go to school. While during the weekends its the same thing but I just stay indoors. Maybe watch a movie or read novels.
WHAT SKILLS HAVE YOU LEARNT SO FAR IN THE UNIVERSITY?
A lot actually but so far, I've learnt to be independent, to live on my own.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT UNI?
Freedom....because you can do whatever you want when you want..no one can stop you.
HOW HAS LIVING IN THE UK BEEN FOR YOU?
Its been nice, really nice. I like the country.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR COURSE
My course is mostly about political theories. It deals with global politics..basically that's it.
WHAT'S THE MOST CHALLENGING THING ABOUT UNI LIFE?
umm...not been able to see your siblings and parents.
